Frank argues that the global economy has created a new class of winners and losers, with the winners reaping the benefits of globalization and the losers left behind in a world of stagnant wages and declining opportunities.
The middle class, once the backbone of the American economy, has been hollowed out, as jobs have been outsourced overseas and wages have failed to keep pace with inflation.
This has led to a growing sense of resentment and anger among the working class, who feel that they have been left behind by the global economy.
Frank argues that this resentment has fueled the rise of populism and authoritarianism around the world, as people search for simple solutions to complex problems.
DisFree Download is a timely and important book that sheds light on the challenges facing the world today.
